NICOLA MARIE HAINES
INSTALLATION ARTIST - EXPERIENTIAL DESIGNER

Creating Transformative Experiences
Drawing on more than thirty years of experience spanning design, education and large-scale installation, I create distinctive sculptural works that respond to both place and the people who experience them. Each project is carefully developed to celebrate the unique character of a site, creating immersive installations that leave a lasting impression.
Funded by the National Lottery, my installation Murmuration featured at Greenbelt Festival in the UK. In New Zealand, my work was supported by Creative New Zealand and TSB Bank, and for over a decade my light installations formed a major part of the award-winning TSB Festival of Lights, attracting audiences of more than 100,000 visitors annually. My work has also featured at Wellington Botanic Garden and Brick Bay Sculpture Trail.
At the heart of my practice is a fascination with landscape, light and our relationship with the natural world.
My installations explore the beauty, complexity and interconnectedness of the environments on which we depend, inviting audiences to pause, reflect and experience familiar spaces in new ways.
From illuminated woodland trails and large-scale public artworks to bespoke wedding and event installations, I combine artistic vision with meticulous craftsmanship to create transformative experiences that celebrate both place and human connection.
Now based in rural Dorset, England, I collaborate with clients, organisations and communities to realise imaginative installation projects from concept through to completion.
