Nicola Marie Haines - BA (Hons) Interior Design
Post Graduate Diploma Teaching
Installation Artist and Lecturer
Nicola is an Installation artist, interior designer and lecturer. She creates sculptural installations for festivals, events and landscapes both in the UK and New Zealand.

With thirty years experience in the design industry, she draws on her expertise to realise inspirational large-scale artworks, using all mediums required to create the project.

Funded by the National Lottery, Nicola’s work ‘Murmuration’ was featured at the Greenbelt Festival, UK, and for ten years her light installations were a major part of the award-winning TSB Festival of Lights, sponsored by Creative New Zealand. The festival attracts over 100,000 people annually. Other works have also featured at the Wellington Botanical Gardens and Brick Bay Sculpture Park, Auckland, New Zealand.
Light, colour and scale are central to Nicola's practice. Her woodland night installations evoke the childlike wonder and excitement of wandering through a forest after dark, and provide a surreal space to reflect on our fragile and exquisitely precious natural environment.

Her current artwork explores humanity's response to the land on which we rely. She comments on the structural complexity of the natural world, its inherent rhythms and cycles and how these shape our very existence.

Nicola is an English Kiwi now based in rural Dorset, England.
